I can only conclude that it's Elite's fault for poorly implementing SteamVR, apparently a result of using "their own tools." Full rant and link to David Braben's article on why they won't support OSVR here.Įlite: Dangerous is one of my favorite games, but I have never been more frustrated by a developer spoiling a game's potential - and that's in general, not specifically with regard to OSVR. And I've yet to encounter any bugs this severe with any other SteamVR games while using the HDK. Nothing about OpenVR should be HMD specific, if I understand it correctly, so there shouldn't be much of a difference between the HDK and the Vive without controllers plugged in. Things like the HUD flickering as if it's trying to render at two different angles, the entire screen flashing, mismatch between the virtual cursor and head tracking, and for some people an inability to use the HMD Position Reset keybind while others can. While the head tracking is working, I have not been. I'm guessing this is simply part of the setup. There's still a 'System' error, and it says: 'compositor is not fullscreen'.

I got steamVR, and added the drivers nessecary for the OSVR to be compatible. The best that I've gotten to work with it is 'The palace' demo. There are glitches that apparently do not occur with the Vive. I recently got the OSVR Hacker Kit (1.3) and I've been having issues with it. I have no idea what's going on at this point.Elite with the HDK is weird. Can't recover from this state, even after reboot, unless I reinstall drivers).

And for some reason, I can't enable SLI either (display driver fails and Windows falls back to the generic display driver. I've also tried reinstalling drivers several times to no avail. I've tried every permutation possible and I'm getting either crashes or the 109/compositor error (and I've tried all these combinations with the Vive hooked up via HDMI and DP): Two monitors, two GPUs connected by SLI bridge without SLI configured, both monitors in one GPU - 109/compositor error Two monitors, two GPUs connected by SLI bridge without SLI configured, one monitor into each GPU - 109/compositor error Two monitors, one GPU - 109/compositor error One monitor, two GPUs connected by SLI bridge - crash One monitor, two GPUs without SLI bridge - crash One monitor, one GPU - crash once you do this you will need to re edit the config file where you add the OSVR line on the drivers folder where you have steam vr installed.

For example when you have deployed a new version of your application, the new version isn't activated until you restart the application. The native mode supports Rift, Gear and PSVR, but not SteamVR. Do not connect the Head mounted display to th.

When you have deployed an application on Passenger, you will want to restart it from time to time. In this video, i explain how to set up OSVRs HDK2 with windows 10 and SteamVR. I just got a DP-miniDP cable and have it hooked up through that, but I'm still getting the same issue (error 109 and compositor). Restarting applications on Passenger + Apache. I'm getting the exact same problem (along with others, which I'll go into later).
